It all began in 2004 with the purchase of “Glentanna”, a white Suffolk stud property near Caramut, Victoria.
Glentanna White Suffolks
The previous owner was a white Suffolk breeder registered as “Glenbarr”. After purchasing 65 Glenbarr white Suffolk stud ewes with the property, we soon saw the benefits the White Suffolk has to offer.

We found they produce great sucker lambs that were quick maturing, well muscled with good length and best of all, tight skins which held fresher for longer. These Ewes were very fertile and great mothers. Surprisingly, they were easy to handle in the yards and quiet in nature, despite their large size. This along with their bare points, made them great shearing!!
We developed quite a soft spot for the “Whites” and after careful consideration, decided to become white Suffolk breeders. Even though there are other breeders around this area we were confident with what we had to offer.
Our Stud ewes were from a registered stud with a good genetic history, however lacked EBV’s or documented figures. We felt this was something that needed to be developed and began performance recoding with Lambplan in 2012.
“Shockwave” A Detpa Grove Ram was our first Ram purchased and after some much appreciated assistance/advice from David Pipkorn, our confidence and ability to provide a solid foundation for our stud increased immensely.
